Another Happy Customer

happy customer1 Another Happy CustomerWe love when a customer enjoys our services and shares it with a review. Lisa K. was a joy to work with and I’m glad we were able to assist her. Check out her review below.

Best moving experience we’ve ever had

Review: Every detail of our interaction with IQ Transport was top notch and I unhesitatingly recommend them to anyone who has vehicles of any type to be hauled. I contacted Scott Ayres (operations manager) via email to ask for a quote to move my father in law’s tractor and implements from his home to ours. Scott was attentive, answered emails quickly, and made sure we got the right driver for the job. We were most concerned that the driver do the actual loading, as my FIL has some health issues.

The driver (Walter K) stayed in contact with me daily – during the loading, driving and when preparing to deliver. He was courteous to my FIL, and made sure he brought someone else to help him load the tractor and implements.

Walter arrived at my house on time, and unloaded it all quickly. Everything was securely strapped to the truck, and there was no damage, theft or even dirt on the tractor and implements.

We’ve dealt with a lot of moving companies over the years, mainly for family moves. We’ve had good experience and bad ones, and a couple of downright awful ones. But IQ Transport is a great company and I’ll use them again if we have an vehicle transport needs.

Join our Fan Page and support a family in need.

ar125681982608436 300x196 Join our Fan Page and support a family in need. When I saw the story about he Balch family from my hometown of Gatesville I was heartbroken. I can’t imagine what the wife is going through dealing with grieving the loss of her youngest son, the severe injuries of her other son and the critical injuries her husband sustained while rescuing his sons from the fire.

The pain they are going through is unimaginable and my thoughts and prayers go out to this family, although I have never met them.

Since reading about the accident on Facebook I have seen my hometown of Gatesville rally around and behind this family. There are already dozens of stories about how strangers have raised 1000s of dollars to help pay for the repairs to the home and the mountain of medical expenses that are to come. There are already garage sales, blood drives, fundraisers, raffles and etc that have been setup just 24-48 hours after the tragedy occurred..

All of us at IQ Transhelp 150x150 Join our Fan Page and support a family in need.port are from Gatesville and call it home.. And we wanted to contribute in some way to this family and help them in their situation.

So we are announcing that starting right now we will donate $25 for every 100 people that join our Facebook Fan Page from now until July 31st. How many people can you get to join? It only takes a few clicks to make a huge impact. Go to our FAN PAGE, hit the “LIKE” button at the top and then click on “Suggest to friends” and click on every friend you know. Then make sure to post in your status field that your friends should go like our page to help with the cause. What if 1000 people joined? Or 2000?

So that’s your challenge and our pledge.. Go LIKE our page today and tell your friends about us.

Transport Review

A great customer review for a recent tractor we shipped for a family farm that was relocating across country
“Scott,
I just wanted to thank you for working with me and arranging the carrier for our tractor. And I did as you suggested and asked them if they could take the smoker as well, and they gave me a very reasonable quote. So both the tractor and the smoker were delivered safe and sound today around dinnertime.
Thanks again for your helpful and competent service.
Lauri”

Loading items in your car during shipment

car packed 300x225 Loading items in your car during shipmentI’ve posted about this before and I get asked this on a daily basis. I got the following email from a customer today:

“I received a quote from IQ Transport and wanted to know two things:

Can I pack things in the trunk of my car?
Can I load some things in the backseat?”
Below is my response:
That is an answer that gets harder to answer every day..
The reason is the Department of Transportation does not allow car carriers to haul household goods. It’s a separate license, insurance and etc. If they get caught it’s a hefty fine.
But, the general rule of thumb is you can put about 100lbs of stuff into the trunk of the car without any issues. Out of sight, out of mind. If it’s in the cab of the car the officer at the weigh station may ask the driver to pull the car off the trailer and take everything out of the car to inspect it.
Plus if they are overweight the weigh station will charge them per pound overweight. Just today we had a customer that decided to load down her car without telling us, eventhough we told them it wasn’t allowed when shipping a car. She packed about 600lbs of things into the car. This put the carrier about 400lbs overweight for his load. He got fined at 2 different weigh stations $1 per pound he was overweight! So the customer had to pay him $800 for the stuff she left in the car.. Which was more than the actual transport itself..
My advise is to limit it to the trunk, limit it to clothing, and keep it under 100lbs.

Car Shipping: Inoperable Cars

desoto 300x225 Car Shipping: Inoperable Cars

We get alot of inquiries and questions about moving cars that are considered inoperable (INOP for short) and don’t run for one reason or another. Can we move an INOP? YES!!! Typically the cost to move an INOP is about $100-$150 more than a car that does run. But, in order for a car carrier to move an INOP they must first have a winch and the car must roll, brake and steer. If it cannot do those 3 things then you will need to have a forklift available at pickup and delivery to load and unload the INOP car. If a forklift is not available to load your car then a local wrecker will need to come out and load the car and unload the car for an additional fee.

If you’re looking to buy a car online as a fixer upper feel free to do so and contact us so we can transport it for you.

Car Shipping Review

icon Car Shipping Review

Every claim made was straight forward and accurate. We were pleased with the driver Jack with A and J Transport out of the State of Washington. The entire transaction was clean, accurate, honest, and an honorable. We were pleased with Scott and his forthright communication and fulfillment. We, my wife and I, both clearly and loudly recommend IQ Transport to anyone looking for success. We paid about $200 more than the lowest bid; however, it was well worth the money to not occupy our time with worry and distress – we will without hesistation call Scott again.
Thanks,
The McDermids

Shipping a car from Florida

cars on road 300x199 Shipping a car from FloridaRight now we are smack in the middle of what we call “Snowbird” season.

Snowbirds is the term used to refer to the retired folks that move from the north to Florida in the Winter and back to the north from Florida in the Summer.

Usually they will head South around November to December and head back in mid May through July.

When this happens the amount of cars being shipped the direction of migration more than quadruples.

What this does is put a strain on the entire freight and car shipping industries. There are ten times as many cars that need to be shipped are there are available carriers. So what happens is this increase in loads and decrease in availability of drivers causes the price to go up drastically. If you are shipping a car south in the winter and north in the summer expect to pay about $200-$300 more than usual.

The great thing is that if you are shipping a car in the opposite direction of the snowbirds you will be able to get it done at a cheaper rate as well.

This year Snowbird season hit the industry much earlier than usual. People began moving back north the first week of April due to Easter being so early this year. This has caused a massive back log of cars that need to be moved North. There aren’t near enough drivers and right now you will either have to pay $300-$400 more to move the car or wait until the demand decreases.

Either way we can help you ship your car either to Florida or from Florida. But during snowbird season it will require much patience..

For all your car shipping needs please contact us or fill out a free car shipping quote form.
